Excerpts from "The Admin Dictionary" (publ. by lighter-than-air press) Daylight (day-lite): mythical substance allegedly produced by a heavenly body called the sun. Said only to occur during the "day", the time when the "sun" is "out". Mimics the lighting given off by flourescent lights, but is brighter. Sun (sun): Alleged star that the Earth allegedly revolves around. The Earth, which is also supposed to spin (rotate) supposedly recieves the sun's light on the side facing the sun. See daylight. Outdoors (owt-dohrs): Not within a building. Supposedly full of things like nature and trees and stuff. Friend (frend): A person who is not a user, not a boss, and not a colleague, but who one spends time with. Supposedly, said time is elective, and enjoyable. DOS (daws): "Disk Operating System". Obsolete. ========================================================================= tina@tezcat.com/eris@io.com; http://www.tezcat.com/~tina/home.html "Everyone dies instantly---you're alive, you're alive, you're alive, you're dead." -- Steven Wright ========================================================================= Path: vixen.cso.uiuc.edu!howland.reston.ans.net!news.sprintlink.net!tezcat.com!tezcat.com!not-for-mail From: tina@tezcat.com (Discord) Newsgroups: alt.sysadmin.recovery Subject: More Definitions! Um, what's a window? .... >Bench? Lake? From the Admin Dictionary (publ by lighter-than-air press) Window (win-doh): 1. A screen within a screen. 2. A hole cut into the side of a building that is then filled with glass so that one can look outdoors (see outdoors). The sun sometimes comes in through windows. (see sun.) Some windows can be opened so that one can get air from the outdoors, indoors. Bench (bench): A flat chair with no cushions or wheels. Lake (layk): A self-contained body of water sunk into the ground, usually large enough that one can not easily walk around it. Contains fish. Fish (ghoti): an organic life form that resides in lakes and rivers. Allegedly good for eating. River (ri-vehr): like a lake, only longer and harder to walk around. == tina@tezcat.com == eris@io.com == Discord, mundanely Tina == "You protest? YOU protest? You PROTEST?" "Indeed, Sire.
